Boom in Property Frauds Record number of frauds resulting from chaos in Registry Agency
16.7.2009While on a holiday or simply sleeping you may be robbed of your home. The risk of falling a victim to such a fraud is huge because of the chaos currently reigning over the Registry Agency, alarmed Yani Yanev, leader of Order, Law and Justice who has received over 50 signals from the ?stung? citizens. The frauds always pick high-quality property in Sofia, the Black Sea coast and Bansko resort. They use the flaws in the new Ikar programme which was intended to collect in an electronic format all registries and documents. The programme, though, is not protected at all and everybody can steal data from it. Besides, the separate entries are not given a unique number, which additionally facilitates swindling. Working with the help of a notary, they transfer the targeted property a couple of times and temper its data in the registry. Yani Yanev?s people have approached the Prosecutor?s Office filing a complaint over the illegal activities of the Registry Agency Chair, Daniela Mitova and the inertness of Justice Minister, Miglena Tacheva.
