Bulgarian Investigation Service Chief: Dirty MoneBecomes Fresh Investments

Bulgarian Investigation Service Chief: Dirty MoneBecomes Fresh Investments

08.5.2008
Not all the capitals, used in the Bulgarian seaside resorts have a clear origin, the chief othe National Investigation service Boiko Naydenov said Thursday.

According to him one of the main issues is that money, earned through unclear ways, is sent abroad through banks and then returns to the country as "fresh investments".

Naydenov also noted that cash payments for expensive cars or big estate properties are also a problem. I order to reduce money laundry in the country, this practice must be reduced.

Not rarely the investments for major projects in the country are made by off shore companies, on whose capital the government hasn't got enough info on.
