Estate Deal Prices in Bulgaria go 50% down

07.7.2009

There is a decline of 50% compared to the first quarter of 2009 in the price of all

kinds of estate deals struck in June, Novinite Dnes daily reports Tuesday, quoting data by a Bulgarian Property Agency statistic.

‘There is a 50% increase in the number of deals compared to May, as they are achieved at prices that are 50% lower than during the first quarter of 2009’, the company reports.

The lowering of the prices was felt in May and led to a larger number of deals struck in June. An example for that is the number of purchase of ready to use apartments in resorts like Bansko for EUR28,000.

‘There is also more deals in Sofia compared to May – mostly in the lowest price range – EUR35,000 to 40,000’, Mihail Chobanov from Bulgarian Properties explains.

According to him, out of all the deals that the agency has struck 35% are with Bulgarians, while Brits are 43% of the foreigners and Russian-speakers are another 12%.
