Incidents out of guarded areas involving skiers and snowboarders multiply
19.1.2010Mountain rescuer teams are searching for a foreign man, who signaled for help. Duty officer at the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) Zapryan Horozov said that in the late afternoon a foreign citizen has crossed the guarded area in Pirin mountain and headed for Damyanishka valley. Now about 16 mountain rescuers from Bansko winter resort are searching for him. The weather in the mountain is cloudy and snowy.
This is the third incident in the past few days. The MRS warns that snowboarding and skiing out of guarded areas is dangerous.
Yesterday three snowboarders stuck in crags, again out of the guarded area. Two of them were foreign citizens. Mountain rescuers found them later and saved.
