Marriott Int'l to run sea resort hotel in Bulgaria
18.4.2008The information was confirmed by AKG 2000, the Russian investor in the hotel complex.
Marriott has been sounding out the Bulgarian market for years, taking a closer look at opportunities in Sofia. Market sources said the hotel chain is still interested in the Bulgarian capital.
The five-star Marriott-managed hotel in Obzor will be part of the Obzor Black Sea Beach and Spa Resort.
The resort will have a 9.0 ha of beachfront location. It will also offer resort apartments.
The project will unfold in several stages with construction scheduled to begin in September. AKG 2000 has secured the necessary building permits. The entire complex should be ready by 2012.
