Ryanair launches flights to Plovdiv

09.11.2010
Snow fans visiting Bulgaria this winter will now have additional flight options thanks to a new route from London Stansted

Ryanair celebrated the launch of its new route from London Stansted to Plovdiv in Southern Bulgaria on Monday 8 November, flights which will offer UK skiers and snowboarders an additional way of accessing the resorts of Bansko and Pamporovo.

The route, which will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, will be most useful for visitors to Pamporovo, which lies to the South of Bulgaria’s second city, but will also be a viable airport for holidays to the better known resort of Bansko to the South West.

“We’re delighted that Ryanair is bringing Bulgaria's increasingly popular Bansko and Pamporovo ski regions closer to home with new flights to Plovdiv” commented London Stansted Airport’s Paul Haynes.

The launch of the new service coincides with an online flight sale from the budget airline, which is offering a million seats for £6 each to 500 European destinations in December and January if booked before midnight Thursday 11 November.
