Second Batch of Medicines, Protective Gear Purchased By Government Arrive from China

May 2 (BTA) - A second batch of medicinal products and protective gear purchased by the Bulgarian Government from China, have arrived at Sofia Airport. The purchase was made following the agreements reached between Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, the Foreign Ministry reported Saturday. The delivery includes 158,000 protective masks and over 200,000 boxes of medicinal products needed for the hospital treatment of COVID-19 patients, in accordance with the corresponding international protocols. The delivery was made under an agreement between the Health Ministry and China's State-owned pharmaceutical company with the assistance of Bulgaria's Economy Ministry, the Bulgarian Embassy in Beijing, and the Chinese Embassy in Sofia. The medicines and protective gear arrived on a Bulgaria Air flight, the cost of which was covered by the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology.
