Slovakia Ambassador Wins Ski Cup of Bulgaria Foreign Minister
15.3.2010A total of 34 foreign diplomats, including the Ambassadors of Austria, Germany, Japan, Slovakia, and Ukraine, and two Bulgarian Ministers – Economy Minister Traikov and Regional Development Minister Plevneliev – participated in the contest.
Ambassador Mistrik won the Transitional Cup of the Foreign Minister by achieving the best time on the 600 m-track in the Bulgarian mountain resort of Bansko in the contest which took place Saturday.
The contest was organized at the initiative of the Ambassadors of Germany and Slovakia to Bulgaria, Matthias Hoepfner, and Karol Mistrik.
Slovakia’s Ambassador Karol Mistrik won the overall cup and the first place in the category for participants under 45 years of age. Bulgaria’s Economy Minister Traikov came in second in the same category, while Alexander Wojda, an advisor at Austrian Embassy was third. Bulgaria’s Regional Development Minister Rosen Plevneliev remained fourth.
Gerhard Reiweger, Austria’s Ambassador in Sofia, and his German colleague, Matthias Hoepfner, came in first and second respectively in the contest for participants over 55 years of age. Enzio Perero, a representative of the Italian Embassy, was third.
A number of other foreign diplomats were in the audience of the ski contest in Bansko – including the Ambassadors of Finland, France, Indonesia, Italy, and the Netherlands.
