The Bulgarian team Art Rays - Partnership of Art New Vision "and" 4 rays "- received one of eight distinctive awards jury of the big international competition for building the Museum of World War II in the Polish city of Gdansk.

The competition to which the projects were allowed 240 teams from countries around the world end on September 1. There were three Bulgarian project.

Art Rays draft a frozen monument of three components representing three eras - before the war, the war itself and the future.
The past is a sample of the old town, is borrowed from her vision, the square and the atmosphere around him. This atmosphere and enters the building from which emanates the spirit of prewar Gdansk.
War is the volume alone, disharmony, carrying a feeling of hopelessness. Barbed wire torn landscape and stirs up fear and terror.
The future is depicted as a ship - a symbol of freedom, solidarity and hope. The facades of the "ship" are reflective, so they will reflect reality in the future.
In the structure of the entire museum pass three spirals, symbolizing life and time. The average of the past and began passing in the future. The final two volumes from the past by passing through the war and decay.
Thus, by means of expression of architecture, the authors of the project make its message "Where there is war there is no future!"

The jury, whose Members are British architect George Ferguson and urbanites, historian Wojciech Duda, the American architect Daniel Libeskind, the architect and specialist in art history Jack Lohman, Andrzhey Pagovski graphic designer from Warsaw, Germany and the architect Hans Depth Shtiman, awarded first prize and € 80,000 to the project studio arhitekternoto "Square" in Gdynia, Poland.
The second prize of 50,000 euros for Plashkovichki Piotr from Warsaw and partners, and the third - € 30,000 - for Athenian company Betaplan.

Were distributed and four special prizes of € 10,000. This category was awarded Varna and architectural studio Dizarh LTD.
