Relief: The Danube Plain is found in northern Bulgaria. It's eastern of the Ludogorie and the Dobrouja table-land. Stara Planina Mountain (The Balkan) lays across the country - from the west border to the seacoast. The highest peak is Botev (2 376 m). Sredna gora Mountain is found southern and it’s shorter than Stara planina Mountain. Between Stara planina Mountain and Sredna gora mountain is The valley of roses: Karlovo and Kazanlak's hollow. The central parts of southern Bulgaria are occupied by the Upthracian lowland. Climate: Temperate continental. In the southern parts - transition Mediterranean. The middle temperatures for January are from -2 to 2oC in plains to -10oC in mountains. For July are 19-25oC in plains and about 10oC in high parts. An average annual rainfall: 450-600 mm in paints, to 1300 mm in the mountains.

Vegetable life: 30 % of country’s territory is covered by broad - leaved and coniferous woods. More than 1 700 m above sea-level: Mountain meadows and pasture

Economy: Industrial-agrarian country. The econimics is in transitional period of time to market economy. There are limited reserve of ores and minerals: iron, copper, uranium ores, coals, marble and so on. Leading industrial branch: ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, machine-building, chemical, oil processing, cement, woodworking, textile, shoe industry, wine production, tobacco canning industry and so on.

Agricultural: workable lands cover about 50% of country’s territory. Main crops: wheat, corn, sunflower, tobacco, sugar beet, vines, fruits and vegetables and so on. There are customs in cultivation of oil-bearing rose (rose olive) lavender, peppermint etc. Stock-farming: make a speciality of the cultivation of cattle, pigs, sheep, poultry.

Transport: 37 300 km szos, railway line - 6 500 (65% electrification). Black sea’s harbours-Varna and Burgas. Danube river’s horbours: Ruse, Lom, Vidin, Silistra and so on. International airports - Sofia, Varna, Burgas, Plovdiv.

Black sea is between Europe and Asia and its area is 465 000 sq km, its depth is 2 210 m. Typical inside sea with 4090 km sea coast.

Bosphor separate it with The Aegean sea, Karchenski strait with The Sea of Azov. The Black sea’s salt content is low. The rising tide and the outgoing tide are insignificant. In the bathyal aquatic layer there is no oxygen. There is sulphuretted hydrogen which is not in every other sea. Black sea is with soft winter and cool summer.

The Bulgarian seacoast is 380 km with wonderful beaches, the water is calm and pure, health climate, fine golden sands and sand dunes, mineral springs, resorts, bearers of Blue flag, vacation settlements and camping-sites. The middle summer air temperature is about 28oC, and the water’s: 25oC.

Two international airports – Varna and Burgas bind it with the other part of the world.

Northern Black sea is clean and calm with not big slope with wide beaches with fine golden sands, woods and a lot of mineral springs. The contemporary resorts are Rusalka, Albena, Golden sands, Riviera, St Konstantin, Sunny day

Landmarks are The castle and the botanical garden in Balchik, cape Kaliakra, Varna’s museums.

The southern Black sea contends picturesque bays and whimsical rocks, spacious beaches and sand dunes. Stara planina mountain (The Balkan) is the biggest Bulgarian one. It’s long 550 km and it passes the country from the border with Serbian to Black sea. On north it borders with Danube's plane, on south with Sofia’s valley, Sredna gora mountain and Gornotrakiska plane. The highest peak is Botev with 2376 m. The middle temperature around the peak is -8,9oC in January and 7,9oC in July.

Stara planina mountain is the main watershed in Bulgaria. The most rainy are May and July and the less rainy is February. The mountain divides into three parts.

The Western Stara planina is 215 km. by the Zlatitsa's passage. Here, the highest peak is Kom (2016 m.). There are a lot of possibilities of alpinism in the Naturally Park Vrachanski Balkan. There are a lot of beautiful and huge caves. Here is found the picturesque Iskur's gorge.

The Middle Stara planina is between the Zlatitsa's passage and the passage Vratnik. This is the highest and attractive part. Except the leader peak Botev here are peak Vejen (2198 m.), Big Kupen (2169 m.), Ambarica (2166 m.), Small Kupen (2141 m.). There are a lot of sanctuary and naturally parks: The valley of river Osum, the passage Steneto, the Northern and the Southern Djendem, the waterfall Heavenly splash, the Singing rocks, Old river, the waterfall Karlovsko splash. Northwest Bulgaria includes the regions Vidin and Montana. Vidin is administrative center and port of Danube river. Svishtov is a town with architecture from XVII – XIX century, univercity center. The sightseeings are the ancient town “Nove”, the church “Uspenie Bogorodichno”, the park “The Monuments”.

In Lovetch impress the architecture reserve “Varosha”, the covered bridge over the Osam river – the only one on the Bolkans, the monument and museum of Vasil Levski.

Veliko Tarnovo – the old capital of Bulgaria – is a town with huge historical past, many monuments and sightseeings. Not far from the city is Arbanasi – architectural reserve included in the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage.

Ruse is the biggest bulgarian town on the Danube river. It is known as the “Small Viena”, because of its beautiful architecture. Near is the Natural park “Rusenski Lom” and the rock monasteries, which are under UNESCO protection. In the near town Byala is the famous bridge of Master Kolyo Ficheto over Yantra river.

Razgrad is on the river Beli Lom. Here is the architectural reserve “Abritus”, the mosque “Ibrahim pasha”. There are a lot of values in the historical museum. 40 km is the famous tracian tomb near Sveshtari, included in the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage.

Shumen and the region around him is very rich of historical monuments from the First Bulgarian Country – The fortress of Shumen, the old capitals Pliska and Veliki Preslav, “Madara riderman”, which are under UNESCO protection, etc.

Silistra is the last bulgarian town on the Danube river. Here is the medieval fortress Durostrum. 12 km from the city is the reserve “Srebarna” – under the protection of Junesko, included in the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage.

In 1976 year is created the National park “Pirin”. It’s in the list of the UNESKO about world natural heritage. There are the natural reserves Bauvi holls, Djindjirica, Tisata.

The capital of Bulgaria is Sofia with population 1 182 000 people. It is situated in the Sofia’s field and it’s 550 m. above sea level high. Vitosha is the most visited mountain in Bulgaria, and it’s one of the symbols of the capital Sofia. It’s square is 278 sq.km and it’s devide of forth main parts. In North Vitosha are the "Zlatnite mostove" (The Golden bridges), Knyajevo, Simeonovo. Eastern Vitosha borders with Plana mountain. Here are the peaks Big Rezen (2277), Small Rezen (2191), Big Kupen (1930), the nature reserve “Bistrishko branishte” and the resort and a ski-centre Aleko. The South-western part is the biggest. Here is the longest cave in Bulgaria “Duhlata” and the karst spring The life water. North-western part is to Lyulin montain. In 1934 is created The National park “Vitosha”. The main tourist cebtre are "Aleko" and "Zlatnite mostove" (Golden Bridges).

Blagoevgrad is the biggest town in the region. There are several universities and rich history. The town is found in the foot of Pirin mountain. Next is the unusual Kresna’s defile (gorge) and the town Sandanski. Here was born Spartak - the leader of the biggest rising in the Roman empire. The town is known like the best natural public state station of bronchial asthma in Europe.

Southern is the place Rupite. There are a lot of curative thermal springs. According to the famous prophet Vanga, there is a special cosmic energy in this place. There is the volcanic hill Kojuh, the protected place Rupite and the temple of Grandmother Vanga “St. Petka”.
